The interpolate contour data option will undertake a vector to raster conversion of the contour data that has been imported using GIS Data >>  Import GIS Data >> Import 3D Contours or manually digitised. The vector to raster conversion is undertaken using the methodology outlined in the algorithm section and based on the settings selected in the Project Options form (File >> Project Options | Digital Elevation Model).
