The Import DEM form should be used if an external DEM is to be used as the base DEM for CatchmentSIM's analysis. This option preserves the characteristics (e.g., pixel size & DEM extent) of the external DEM.  Therefore, it does not require a blank DEM to be setup previously as is required when sampling an external DEM (DEM >> External DEM Sampling). After selecting this option you will be prompted to select the DEM file. Be sure to select the appropriate DEM format in the Filter (e.g., ASCII-GRID, SRTM 1/3).

Note:A DEM can only be imported if it is in the same projection as the project. Otherwise, the DEM should be sampled (DEM >> External DEM Sampling) to populate a new DEM that has previously been setup (DEM >> Setup Blank DEM).
